Location: Al Dhafra Region

A leading government healthcare institution in the Al Dhafra Region, Abu Dhabi, is seeking to appoint a highly accomplished Consultant Physician – Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to join its expanding Mental Health Services Division.

Applicants must be willing to be based in Al Dhafra Region.

This is a senior-level appointment suited for an experienced Consultant with a strong clinical background, leadership capability, and a commitment to advancing child and adolescent mental health services within a structured government healthcare system.

Role Summary

The Consultant Physician will provide strategic and clinical leadership in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, delivering comprehensive, evidence-based psychiatric care while contributing to service development, clinical governance, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead specialized psychiatric assessment and management of children and adolescents with complex mental health conditions
• Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans, including psychotherapy and pharmacological interventions
• Provide expert consultation to pediatric and multidisciplinary teams
• Supervise junior physicians and allied health professionals
• Participate in service planning, quality assurance, and clinical governance initiatives
• Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement of mental health services
• Engage in academic activities, case conferences, and professional development programs

Qualifications & Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent recognized medical degree
• Completion of accredited residency training in Psychiatry
• Fellowship/Subspecialty Certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
• Tier 1 qualification preferred (Western Board / UK CCT / American Board / equivalent)
• Valid DOH License or DOH Eligibility Letter (Abu Dhabi)
• Dataflow verification completed
• Minimum 3–5 years post-board experience at Consultant level
• Demonstrated leadership and multidisciplinary team management skills
