Contract and Commercial Director – (Relocation to Syria)

Position Summary:

The Contract and Commercial Director will lead and oversee all contract and commercial activities for large-scale construction projects. This role requires extensive experience managing contracts, procurement, and commercial strategies within a main contractor organization. The director will ensure all commercial operations align with company goals and regulatory requirements, driving profitability and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement commercial and contract strategies aligned with business objectives
• Lead contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Manage risk, claims, and dispute resolution processes
• Oversee budgeting, cost control, and forecasting for commercial activities
• Collaborate with project, legal, and finance teams to ensure compliance and optimal contract execution
• Lead and mentor the commercial team to ensure high performance and professional development
• Report regularly to senior management on commercial performance and project status

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (10+ years) in contract and commercial management within the construction industry, preferably with a main contractor
• Experience working on large-scale projects and managing multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and commercial law
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to work in Syria and manage challenges associated with the region
