Credit Control Officer

Position Overview:

Pentagon Food Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Credit Control Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in credit control or a related field, along with a bachelor's degree. This role is critical in managing our credit and collections processes to ensure timely payment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments and initiate collection efforts.
• Maintain accurate records of all credit control activities and customer communications.
• Assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers using various financial tools and metrics.
• Negotiate payment plans with customers and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Prepare regular reports on credit control activities, outstanding debts, and payment trends.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes.
• Implement and maintain credit control policies and procedures to mitigate credit risk.
• Review and process credit applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
• Handle customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account statuses.
• Provide recommendations for credit limits based on customer financial analysis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit control, or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of credit control principles and practices.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
