The Role
We're hiring on behalf of a growing logistics company in Dubai that specializes in the import and export of heavy equipment and machinery. As a startup, the team is lean and agile, and they're looking for a hands-on Import Clearance & Logistics Coordinator (Chinese Speaker) who can wear multiple hats and help keep operations running smoothly on the ground. Key Responsibilities: - Manage import clearance and delivery operations at Dubai’s port of destination, independently completing customs procedures and document verification. - Review and validate import documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance. - Communicate effectively with clients regarding customs and documentation queries, coordinating with relevant departments to resolve issues promptly. - Oversee the end-to-end clearance and transportation process, coordinating with the fleet to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods. - Demonstrate proactive risk awareness, ensuring clear, logical workflows and timely communication. - Utilize clearance and transportation systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Logistics Management Systems) to maintain accurate and compliant documentation. - Keep up to date with UAE and international import/export regulations, customs policies, and procedures, adjusting operations as needed. - Handle operational exceptions such as missing documents, delays, or customs holds, escalating issues to supervisors when necessary. - Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams (sales, warehouse, finance) to ensure smooth operations and information flow. - Prepare and present regular reports on clearance and transportation performance, monitoring KPIs such as clearance times, delivery efficiency, and cost control. - Maintain high responsibility and resilience, performing effectively under pressure and during high workload periods.
Requirements
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related fields. - Minimum 2 years of experience in import clearance and transportation operations; experience with international freight forwarding or large logistics companies is an advantage. - Strong knowledge of UAE import clearance procedures and regulations. - Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese, with strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities. - Able to independently manage complex operational processes with accountability and composure under pressure.
