Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use in accordance with infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools, maintaining accuracy and patient safety. Manage patient records efficiently within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times. Provide chairside assistance through four-handed dentistry techniques, supporting smooth workflow and patient comfort. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, demonstrating thorough knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones as a dental receptionist, and maintaining organized medical documentation.
Qualifications
Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially familiarity with dental assisting procedures and infection control standards. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is essential for managing patient records accurately. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding enhances your ability to support clinical operations effectively. Certification or training in X-ray techniques, aseptic technique, and infection control is required to ensure safety standards are met. Experience with pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus for supporting our diverse patient base. Ability to perform medical imaging procedures confidently while adhering to HIPAA regulations ensures privacy and compliance. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset are vital for collaborating with dentists, hygienists, receptionists, and patients alike.
