The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for managing, publishing, and optimizing digital content across multiple platforms to ensure accuracy, compliance, consistency, and timeliness. This role plays a key part in supporting digital marketing efforts and maintaining a strong, trustworthy online presence in a regulated environment. The Digital Content Specialist works closely with the marketing team, management, and subject-matter experts and reports to the VP of Digital Transformation.
Collaborate with marketing, management, and subject-matter experts to launch cohesive digital campaigns. Publish social media posts across multiple channels. Maintain brand voice, tone, and messaging consistency across all digital channels. Monitor and analyze content performance using analytics tools and apply insights to improve engagement. Update and refresh existing digital content to ensure relevance, accuracy, and effectiveness. Stay current on digital content trends, platform updates, and industry best practices.
25%Review and screen social media comments and Google reviews on a regular basis. Identify potential concerns or issues and escalate them to the appropriate department or management team as needed.
25%Manage online banking content, including educational articles, system alerts, holiday notices, and promotional messaging. Maintain and update website content and support ongoing website changes. Manage digital content displayed on in-branch televisions and other internal-facing platforms. Maintain content calendars and ensure timely delivery of content across all digital channels.
15%Adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Ensure all digital content complies with company policies, procedures, service standards, and brand guidelines.
5%Perform all other job responsibilities as assigned by management.
One to two years of experience in digital content creation or management, with experience in marketing, social media, or digital design. Experience in the financial industry is preferred.
Education/Certifications/LicensesBachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field preferred.
Interpersonal SkillsA significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. Ability to communicate information of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating, and/or advising others on matters of significance. Ability to develop and foster strong working relationships with team members and members to ensure we are achieving the overall mission and vision of the credit union. Other SkillsMust be bondable. Must hold a valid Alabama driver's license with a good driving record. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Time management skills. Ability to prioritize and multitask. Logic and reasoning skills. Creativity. Attention to detail. Microsoft Office. Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics or similar platforms. Experience collaborating with designers and using tools such as Canva, Adobe, or Figma. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
Working ConditionsMust be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise. Must be able to occasionally work some evenings and/or weekends when organizing or attending sponsored events. Must be able to occasionally work at offsite locations that may include an outdoor event.
Mental and/or Emotional RequirementsMust be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic financial calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
