1. The Core Function: Dispatching
- What you do: You coordinate the movement of goods. As a dispatcher, you are the central hub managing the routes, schedules, and personnel (drivers) involved in a transport job.
- Who you serve (The Foreign Company): The company you are working for is likely the actual carrier (owning the trucks) or a larger logistics company. Your role is to manage their fleet operations efficiently.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Assigning Loads: Finding loads/jobs for drivers to haul.
- Routing: Planning the most efficient routes.
- Scheduling: Setting pickup and delivery times.
- Tracking: Monitoring the location and status of shipments and drivers.
- Problem Solving: Handling unexpected issues like breakdowns, delays, traffic, or border/customs problems.
2. The Customer Base (Foreign Customers)
- Who they are: These are the companies (shippers or receivers) that need goods moved—manufacturers, retailers, distributors, etc. They are paying for the service.
- What they need: They require real-time updates, reliability, and clear communication regarding their freight.
3. The Workforce (Foreign Drivers)
- Who they are: These are the professional truck drivers who are executing the transport tasks.
- What they need: They require clear, concise, and timely instructions about where to go, what to pick up/drop off, and what documentation is needed.
