As a Dispatcher at dnata Catering plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services. This position involves assisting the Transportation Manager, managing communication with various departments, and ensuring that all flight catering logistics are handled efficiently. The Dispatcher will be responsible for processing customer information, handling last-minute requests, and maintaining a clear communication link between field operations and the catering facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist the Transportation Manager as needed.
  • Attend to dispatch phone calls, FAXes, and emails in a timely manner.
  • Forward daily flight catering status, including the number of passengers (PAX) prepared, to KL.
  • Process all customer information during shifts and update relevant departments as necessary.
  • Print labels and boarding bills for flight departures during shifts and for upcoming shifts as needed.
  • Ensure all production information is ready for pick-up at dispatch for all departments concerned (HOT/COLD FOOD, EQ/BEV, etc.).
  • Communicate and oversee last-minute requests to all relevant departments.
  • Build all cargo flights during shifts.
  • Serve as the communication link between field operations and the catering building.
  • Write and email a daily shift report (as per the template provided by the Transportation Manager) to the Transportation Manager and General Manager.
  • Report and document any vehicle fleet, building access system, building security, accident issues, or other abnormalities brought to attention via email to the Transportation/Maintenance Manager.
  • Capture all working hours and control timekeeping; provide respective time adjustment sheets to HR and the Transportation Manager.
  • Ensure proper shift closing with all tasks completed.
  • Assist the Commercial department with menu specifications and other tasks as assigned.
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Other duties as assigned by unit Supervisors.
EDUCATION: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years’ experience in transportation dispatching and customer service

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Intellectual/Social demands:
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires constant attendance and punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly.

Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds.   • Massachusetts: Pursuant to the Massachusetts Consumer Reporting Act (M.G.L. c. 93, § 52 et seq.) and the Massachusetts CORI statute (M.G.L. c. 6, § 172), dnata Catering may obtain a consumer report or criminal offender record information for employment purposes, consistent with state law.   • New Jersey: In accordance with the New Jersey Opportunity to Compete Act (N.J.S.A. 34:6B-11 et seq.) and applicable consumer reporting laws, background checks will be conducted only as permitted by law, and applicants will receive required notices and rights regarding any consumer report obtained.
  • Texas: Background checks may be conducted in accordance with applicable Texas law and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Applicants will receive required disclosures and authorizations prior to any consumer report being obtained.
