Duties

• Coordinate and schedule freight pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Utilize GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries.
• Manage dispatching activities through multi-line phone systems, providing clear instructions to drivers and carriers while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Enter accurate data into logistics platforms including AS400 and 3PL shipping & receiving systems to monitor shipment statuses and update records promptly.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve scheduling conflicts or delays, ensuring smooth operations.
• Monitor fleet management systems to oversee vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, and compliance with safety standards.
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements within supply chain logistics and transportation planning.

Experience

• Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment preferred.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of supply chain processes, freight operations, and shipping & receiving procedures.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally.
• Demonstrated analysis skills for evaluating routing efficiencies and logistics data.
• Knowledge of GPS, GIS technologies, fleet management tools, and warehouse software like SyteLine or AS400 is highly desirable.
