Dispatcher/Dispatch Executive

Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in various logistics management systems.

Duties

• Manage daily dispatch operations, ensuring optimal routing and scheduling of deliveries.
• Utilise transportation management systems to track shipments and monitor supply chain activities.
• Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to facilitate seamless shipping and receiving processes.
• Conduct data entry tasks accurately to maintain up-to-date records of shipments and inventory.
• Perform analysis on logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and suppliers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues that arise.
• Maintain phone etiquette while handling inquiries and providing exceptional customer service.
• Assist in the training of new staff on systems such as AS400 and SyteLine as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics or dispatching roles is preferred.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems and supply chain processes is essential.
• Strong analytical skills to assess data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on phone etiquette.
• Proficient in data entry with a high typing speed and accuracy.
• Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures is advantageous.
