Job Summary:
The Export Executive will be the operational backbone of our export department. You will be responsible for the end-to-end documentation process, ensuring seamless and timely shipment of goods. Your expertise in handling Letters of Credit, managing banking formalities, and coordinating with shipping lines will be essential to our success in the global marketplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Export Documentation:
- Prepare, verify, and manage all export documents accurately and in a timely manner, including:
- Commercial Invoices
- Packing Lists
- Certificates of Origin
- Bill of Lading / Airway Bills
- Shipping Instructions
- Any other buyer-specific or country-specific documents.
- LC and Payment Processing:
- Scrutinize incoming Letters of Credit (LCs) from banks to ensure terms and conditions are feasible and aligned with the sales contract.
- Liaise with banks for the negotiation, acceptance, and processing of LCs and other payment modes (CAD, DP, DA).
- Prepare and submit all required documents to the bank for payment negotiation and realization.
- Shipment Coordination:
- Coordinate with freight forwarders and shipping lines for container booking, space reservation, and obtaining freight quotes.
- Arrange and track inland transportation to the port.
- Handle the EFS (Electronic Form ‘S’) and other web-based customs portal submissions.
- Customs and Port Clearance:
- Ensure all customs and port-related formalities are completed efficiently.
- Work closely with clearing agents to ensure smooth customs clearance and release of shipments from the port.
- Compliance and Coordination:
- Ensure full compliance with all export regulations and international trade laws.
- Coordinate closely with the commercial, production, and logistics teams to ensure on-time shipments.
- Maintain organized records of all export documents for audit and reference purposes.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of hands-on experience in export documentation and shipment handling, preferably in the garment or textile industry.
- In-depth, practical knowledge of Letters of Credit (UCP 600), international payment methods, and banking procedures.
- Proven experience with EFS, customs documentation, and port release processes in Pakistan.
- Strong understanding of Incoterms (e.g., FOB, CIF, CNF).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with banks, shipping lines, and government authorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel).
