The Export Manager will be responsible for managing and expanding the company’s international sales operations. This includes identifying new markets, handling export documentation and compliance, building strong client relationships, and ensuring timely and efficient execution of export orders. The role requires strategic thinking, market knowledge, and strong coordination with production, logistics, and finance teams to achieve export growth targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement export strategies to achieve international sales targets.
- Identify and build relationships with international buyers, distributors, and partners.
- Manage the entire export order cycle from inquiry to shipment and payment collection.
- Ensure compliance with export regulations, INCOTERMS, and international trade laws.
- Prepare, verify, and manage all export documentation (invoice, packing list, BL/AWB, COO, inspection certificates, etc.).
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and payment methods (LC, TT, CAD) with international clients.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities.
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, and logistics teams for timely order fulfillment.
- Develop relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and clearing agents.
- Ensure compliance with international quality standards and packaging requirements.
- Monitor and manage export pricing, costing, and profitability analysis.
- Handle and resolve customer queries, complaints, and after-sales issues.
- Attend and represent the company at international exhibitions, trade fairs, and B2B events.
- Prepare periodic export performance reports and present them to management.
- Train and supervise export team staff in processes, documentation, and compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 5–7 years of proven experience in export management (furniture/consumer goods/manufacturing preferred).
- Strong knowledge of export documentation, INCOTERMS, customs regulations, and logistics.
- Hands-on experience with international client management and market entry strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP, and trade portals.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally as per business needs.
