Export Officer

Sialkot, Pakistan

The Export Officer is responsible for managing all export-related documentation, coordination with logistics and customs authorities, ensuring timely shipment of goods, and maintaining compliance with export regulations. The role involves close communication with international clients, freight forwarders, and internal departments to ensure smooth and efficient export operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage export documentation (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, etc.) according to destination country requirements.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs agents for booking and clearance of consignments.
  • Ensure compliance with customs laws, export policies, and international trade regulations.
  • Track shipments and update clients regarding delivery schedules.
  • Liaise with production, store, and finance departments to ensure timely availability of goods and export payments.
  • Handle LC (Letter of Credit), bank negotiation documents, and other payment instruments.
  • Maintain records of all export transactions and prepare periodic MIS reports for management review.
  • Assist in price quotations, export tenders, and trade exhibitions as required.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization in logistics and freight.
  • Handle any issues related to delays, damages, or documentation discrepancies.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain, or a related field. (MBA preferred)
  • Experience: 2–4 years of relevant experience in export operations or international trade (preferably in manufacturing/export industry).
  • Knowledge:
  • Export documentation and customs clearance process
  • Incoterms, LC documentation, and freight forwarding
  • SAP/ERP system knowledge (preferred)

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication (English proficiency essential)
  • Excellent coordination and follow-up skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Ability to handle multiple shipments simultaneously
  • Problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Familiar with MS Office and export management systems
