The Field Buyer is responsible to manage and execute the procurement of technical materials, tools, equipment, and services required for estate engineering operations. The Field Buyer plays a key role in sourcing reliable vendors, conducting on-site market visits, negotiating prices, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement in line with specifications and project needs. The position ensures a seamless flow between field requirements and procurement execution, supporting uninterrupted estate maintenance and technical operations.

JOB LOCATION: FUJAIRAH, UAE

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Certification in Procurement and Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS, IFPSM, or equivalent) preferred.
  • UAE Driving License (mandatory for field visits).
  • Familiarity with UAE local procurement regulations and municipal requirements is an advantage.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in technical purchasing, preferably in facilities management, engineering, or construction within the UAE.
  • Experience in sourcing and purchasing MEP materials, tools, spare parts, and technical consumables.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating with maintenance/engineering teams and site technicians.

KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

Technical Procurement Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of MEP materials, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance products.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, BOQs, and material submittals.
  • Familiar with SOW-based service purchasing (e.g., elevator maintenance, pest control, etc.).

Vendor Sourcing & Market Knowledge

  • Deep knowledge of local UAE markets, suppliers, and approved vendors for technical goods.
  • Skilled in performing field visits, price comparisons, and market benchmarking.
  • Ability to identify alternate sources without compromising on quality or compliance.

Negotiation & Cost Control

  • Strong negotiation skills to ensure competitive pricing and value for money.
  • Experience in negotiating payment terms, delivery timelines, and service agreements.

Logistics & Delivery Management

  • Ability to coordinate with logistics teams and vendors for timely delivery to site or store.
  • Verifying deliveries against orders and resolving discrepancies in quality or quantity.

Documentation & ERP Systems

  • Proficient in creating and managing Purchase Orders, RFQs, GRNs, and delivery notes.
  • Experience using ERP or procurement systems.
  • Maintaining procurement logs, records, and warranty documentation.

Communication & Coordination

  • Strong coordination skills with engineering, warehouse, and accounts departments.
  • Clear communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to respond quickly to urgent field requests and site requirements.
