Key Responsibilities
- Taxation & Compliance:
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns (income tax, sales tax, withholding tax).
- Manage tax audits and assessments, liaising with the FBR and other tax authorities.
- Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance.
- Handle transfer pricing, tax provisioning, and reporting for financial closings.
- Financial Management:
- Oversee full-cycle accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Develop financial plans, budgets, and monitor performance against targets.
- Auditing & Assurance:
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors to ensure timely completion of audits.
- Develop and implement internal financial controls and SOPs to mitigate risks.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and tax teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments on financial matters.
- Provide guidance on the tax implications of business decisions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) is often a mandatory qualification.
- Experience: 10-15 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, and taxation.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Pakistani tax laws (income tax, sales tax, withholding tax).
- Proficiency with SAP.
