Financial Controller

SMB Services, on behalf of its client in the environmental industry, is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the financial management function. The role involves ensuring robust financial controls, compliance, and accurate reporting while supporting sustainable growth initiatives aligned with the client’s environmental mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the finance and accounts team.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in compliance with IFRS and regulatory standards.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and annual closing processes.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports aligned with organizational goals.
• Ensure compliance with local taxation, corporate laws, and environmental industry regulations.
• Implement and monitor internal control systems and accounting policies.
• Manage external audits, tax filings, and relationships with financial institutions.
• Oversee cash flow, treasury, and working capital management.
• Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making and sustainability initiatives.
• Guide and mentor team members, fostering professional development and accountability.

Requirements

• Finalist or Qualified Accountant (ACCA / CMA / CA / ICMA or equivalent).
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3–5 years in a senior managerial role.
• Experience in the environmental, sustainability, or services industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, and regulatory frameworks.
• Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems preferred) and MS Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, with a focus on accuracy and deadlines.
