We are a full-service real estate investment and management company with a diverse portfolio of commercial assets. We are looking for a seasoned Controller level accounting manager to oversee property and corporate-level accounting, investor reporting, and compliance functions.
Responsibilities
- Property & Corporate Accounting
- Oversee bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of all cash accounts.
- Review Positive Pay ledgers and resolve exceptions with banks.
- Manage monthly funding requests, management fees, and journal intercompany transfers.
- Prepare income/expense reports for local jurisdictions and ensure timely property tax compliance.
- Support setup of new entities, bank accounts, and accounting system integrations.
- Investor & Lender Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly property financial packages (P&L, Balance Sheet, Rent Roll, AR Aging, etc.) for a group of properties.
- Coordinate and upload quarterly investor reporting through Premier’s investment CRM platform (Agora), including managing and entering distributions.
- Manage quarterly and annual lender compliance reporting, ensuring all deliverables are accurate and on time.
- Review and process quarterly investor and owner distributions
- Review and process additional investor and owner distributions as needed and when there are sale transactions
- Oversight & Controls
- Create and review journal entries for ACH transactions and other adjustments.
- Monitor internal reporting trackers (distribution worksheets, property tax schedules, bank rec status).
- Work closely with outside accountants and auditors on reconciliations, compliance, income tax payments, and year-end filings.
- Assist leadership with cash management.
- Leadership & Support
- Partner with senior management on all accounting and financial issues.
- Supervise accounting workflows in Rent Manager, AvidXchange, and Agora.
- Provide oversight, guidance, and support to accounting/administrative staff handling day-to-day invoice processing, rent deposits, and other clerical duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in commercial real estate or property management.
- Strong experience with A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools; Rent Manager, AvidXchange, and Agora experience a plus.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple entities, properties, and investor structures.
- Team-oriented, detail-driven, and eager to grow with the company
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment often involving time-sensitive financial and transaction-related matters.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
