Fire Fighting Draftsman

Salary: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month

Draftsman Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed drawings and plans for fire protection systems, including fire alarm and firefighting systems, based on project specifications and requirements.
• Utilize AutoCAD or other drafting software to create accurate and comprehensive drawings of fire protection layouts, equipment placement, and system components.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project objectives, design criteria, and relevant standards and codes.
• Incorporate fire protection design principles and standards, including NFPA codes and local regulations, into drafting work to ensure compliance and safety.
• Prepare shop drawings, schematics, and technical documents for submission to regulatory authorities and approval by clients and consultants.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers to integrate fire protection systems with building services and infrastructure.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess existing conditions, identify potential challenges, and gather information for drafting purposes.
• Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to identify spatial constraints and design considerations for fire protection systems.
• Assist in the selection and specification of fire protection equipment, devices, and materials based on project requirements and industry standards.
• Provide support during the installation and commissioning of fire protection systems, addressing design-related issues and ensuring system functionality.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawing revisions, as-built drawings, and equipment schedules, throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with project teams and contractors to resolve design conflicts, address field modifications, and ensure project milestones are met.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in fire protection systems to enhance design capabilities and expertise.

Draftsman Requirements:

• Bachelor of degree in engineering or architecture.
• Fire Alarm and Fire Fighting Draftsman
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a draftsman, preferably in fire protection system design, with specific experience in firefighting and fire alarm systems
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software, with the ability to create detailed and accurate drawings.
• Knowledge of fire protection codes and standards, including NFPA, UAE Fire and Life Safety Code, and Civil Defense requirements.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time.
• knowledge of local regulations and procedures related to fire protection system approvals and inspections (preferred).
• Study/Review of Tender Documents, Scope of works, drawings, BOQ, specifications etc from the tender documents for estimation
• Applicant must have experience in Estimation, Pricing, and Quantity Surveying.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work, with a focus on quality and compliance.
• Ability to work independently and proactively, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
