Foreman (Civil)

Job Role: Shuttering & Reinforcement Foreman

Job Summary

Responsible for supervising shuttering (formwork) and reinforcement (steel) works at site. Ensures work is done as per drawings, quality standards, safety rules, and project timelines.

Main Responsibilities

1. Work Supervision

• Supervise shuttering carpenters, helpers, and bar benders.
• Ensure shuttering and steel work is done as per drawings.
• Check levels, alignment, and dimensions before concrete.

2. Coordination

• Take daily instructions from Site Engineer / Project Manager.
• Coordinate during inspections with client or consultants.
• Update daily progress to the engineer.

3. Quality Control

• Make sure shuttering is tight, stable, and leakproof.
• Check steel as per BBS: spacing, lap, cover block, tying.
• Ensure correct use of materials like props, ply, clamps, spacers.

4. Manpower & Work Planning

• Plan daily work and assign tasks to workers.
• Manage labour attendance and productivity.
• Inform engineer if more manpower is needed.

5. Material Handling

• Ensure shuttering materials and steel are available on time.
• Reduce wastage and handle materials safely.
• Keep record of daily usage of plywood, props, steel, etc.

6. Safety

• Ensure all workers use PPE (helmet, shoes, belt, gloves).
• Maintain safe formwork and scaffolding.
• Follow all safety guidelines before and after concrete work.

7. Before & After Concrete

• Check shuttering and steel fully before pouring.
• Attend inspection with engineer.
• Supervise de-shuttering and stacking after curing.

8. Reporting

• Maintain simple daily reports of work done.
• Inform engineer immediately in case of any issue.

Required Skills

• Good experience in shuttering and steel work (5–10 years).
• Ability to read drawings and BBS.
• Good labour handling skills.
• Basic understanding of safety and quality.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
