Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Creates a welcoming atmosphere by greeting visitors and clients to the clinic
- Check in and check out clients in a timely, friendly manner
- Outstanding professional phone management skills: manages a multiline telephone system efficiently and politely, minimizing hold time
- Comforts patients by answering any questions they may have
- Expedites patient processing by having them fill out forms
- Obtains patient identification and insurance information
- Maintains patient accounts by verifying insurance information and coordinating with relevant organizations for payment and referral requirements
- Keeps pertinent staff abreast of scheduling, patient details, and potential service delays
- Helps maintain office inventory; may place orders for office supplies and schedule service for office equipment repairs
- Protects patients’ right of confidentiality; mandatory familiarity with HIPAA
- Schedule patients to make the most efficient use of staff schedules
- Fax, file, photocopy, data entry and other clerical duties as assigned by staff and Manager
- Verify insurance and complete pre-certification process in a timely manner to minimize delay in client care
Medical Office Receptionist Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- BLS / CPR certified by the American Heart Association required (or due within 90 days of start)
- Certificated Medical Assistant
- Knowledge of basic medical/dental terminology
- 1 year secretarial or receptionist experience required
- Experience in a hospital setting or medical office preferred
- Demonstrated ability to interact with healthcare professionals, clients, and insurance companies alike
- Excellent customer service skills
- Pleasant phone demeanor; bilingual speaker preferred
- Computer skills required; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite mandatory, and must type 30+wpm

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
