Full Charge Bookkeeper

Who you are:

You are a detail-oriented person who enjoys puzzle solving and bringing the pieces of an operation together through finances. You have previous bookkeeping experience but are looking to work for a company where you can grow your career. You are capable of working on your own and consider yourself a self-starter, but you also excel at communicating and collaborating with a team.

The Opportunity:

As a Full Charge Bookkeeper at Creature Control LLC, you will be part of an incredible team and receive a comprehensive benefits package. Your starting salary, depending on your level of experience, will be between $50,000 - $60,000 a year. As a full time employee, you will receive a bank of 14 PTO days each year as well as 9 federal holidays. With the flexibility to work from home when sick, you can save your PTO days for vacation or for a payout at the end of your hire year. What you'll do:

As bookkeeper for Creature Control LLC, you will be the primary person responsible for ensuring the smooth financial operations of the business while also providing key data necessary for strategic decision making. Your key activities will include:

  • keeping accurate records in QuickBooks by documenting receipts, deposits, invoices and all financial transactions
  • paying vendors and contractors in a timely fashion
  • processing weekly deposits of checks
  • overseeing payroll by processing it twice a month, recording commissions, and ensuring accurate entry of employees' hours
  • acting as the point person for the company’s different business insurances by managing renewals, keeping policies current, and coordinating claims

Must haves:

The successful candidate for this position must possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • 2+ years previous experience in bookkeeping
  • strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • QuickBooks proficiency
  • ability to pass a background check

Nice to haves:

A strong candidate for this position would have the following skills:

  • previous experience with payroll software
  • previous experience in a field service industry
  • a foundational understanding of accounting principles that goes beyond bookkeeping with the desire to grow and apply those skills

Details:

This is a full time, 40 hour a week position working in our offices in Gregory, MI. Due to the hands-on nature of many of the responsibilities, this position is fully in person. Our hours are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
