Job Purpose
The General Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s financial records, ensuring accuracy in accounting transactions, and preparing financial reports. The role requires experience in the
event management industry
, with the ability to handle project-based costing, vendor payments, and client invoicing for events.
Key Responsibilities

Record and post all daily financial transactions related to events, projects, and operations.

Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly closing reports.

Manage accounts payable (suppliers, venues, freelancers) and accounts receivable (clients, sponsors), ensuring timely settlements.

Reconcile bank statements and monitor project/event cash flows.

Track budgets for events and provide cost analysis to management.

Ensure compliance with local tax laws, VAT filing, and other regulatory requirements.

Support financial audits by preparing required event-related documentation.

Maintain accurate documentation for contracts, invoices, and event-related expenses.

Coordinate with the operations and event teams to align financial reporting with project timelines.

Provide management with financial insights to support pricing, profitability analysis, and cost control for events.
Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the
event management
.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and event cost structures.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Odoo, SAP, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.

Experience in handling project-based financial reporting.

Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure, especially during peak event seasons.
