General Manager

We are seeking a highly strategic and dynamic General Manager to provide executive leadership and operational oversight for the Company's growth and performance initiatives. The General Manager will drive strategic expansion within the federal marketplace, ensure operational excellence, and maintain full compliance with SBA 8(a) program requirements. This leader will play a critical role in advancing the mission of the Alaska Native Corporation while delivering sustainable growth and shareholder value.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic GrowthBusiness Development

  • Develop and execute strategic growth initiatives within the federal marketplace
  • Identify and pursue 8(a), small business and full-and-open federal contracting opportunities
  • Lead capture strategies, teaming arrangements and joint ventures
  • Expand presence across key federal agencies (e.g., DoD, DHA, DHS, HHS, VA, DOJ)
  • Drive pipeline development and contract win rates

Operations and Program Management

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations of the company
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget
  • Implement scalable operational processes to support growth

ComplianceGovernance

  • Ensure strict compliance with SBA 8(a) program requirements
  • Maintain eligibility and reporting standards
  • Support audits and corporate governance requirements

Financial Management

  • Maintain full P&L accountability
  • Develop annual operating budgets and long-range financial plans
  • Monitor contract profitability, indirect rates and cost structures
  • Ensure strong financial controls and reporting accuracy

Leadership and Culture

  • Build and lead a high-performing management team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ethical conduct and performance excellence
  • Align operations with the values and long-term objectives of the Alaska Native Corporation
  • Support shareholder value creation and community impact initiatives

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field
  • 10 plus years of progressive leadership experience in federal government contracting
  • Demonstrated experience managing IT or professional services portfolios
  • Strong understanding of SBA 8(a) regulations and federal acquisition processes
  • Proven P&L management and revenue growth experience
  • Experience leading capture efforts and federal contract awards
  • Proficient computer skills include knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have excellent communication skills verbally and written, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

Preferred:

  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Experience working within an Alaska Native Corporation or Tribal entity
  • Active federal security clearance (or ability to obtain)

Work Environment

  • May require travel to corporate offices, client sites, and industry events
  • Hybrid or remote depending on business needs
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
