Role Description
The Government Relations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the real estate development team by ensuring smooth coordination with Dubai government entities such as the Dubai Land Department (DLD), RERA, Dubai Municipality, and other relevant authorities. This role involves overseeing project registration, permits, regulatory compliance, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of real estate laws and regulations in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with Government Authorities: Act as the key point of contact with DLD, RERA, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defense, and other relevant authorities to facilitate approvals, registrations, and permits for real estate projects.
- Project Registration & Compliance: Support the registration of real estate projects with DLD and RERA, including off-plan project approvals, Escrow account setup, Title Deed issuance, and compliance with Law No. 8 of 2007 and other applicable regulations.
- Monitor Regulatory Changes: Stay current with regulatory updates from Dubai’s real estate authorities and ensure internal teams are informed and aligned with compliance requirements.
- Documentation & Filing: Prepare and submit all required documentation for approvals, licenses, and NOCs related to development, handover, or marketing of real estate projects.
- Coordinate with Development Teams: Work closely with internal legal, development, planning, and sales departments to ensure alignment with government processes and timelines.
- Track Government Applications: Maintain detailed logs of all submissions and approvals, ensuring timely follow-ups and reporting delays or issues to management.
- Support Policy Advocacy: Participate in consultations, industry working groups, and forums organized by DLD, RERA, or other relevant bodies to advocate for the company’s interests and stay informed on regulatory trends.
- Handle Public Affairs: Assist in the planning and coordination of site visits, inspections, and official meetings with government representatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Real Estate, Business, Law, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in government relations or regulatory affairs in the UAE real estate sector.
- Strong understanding of Dubai Land Department, RERA regulations, Dubai Municipality building codes, and other real estate-related procedures.
- Proven track record managing approvals, permits, and compliance in large-scale real estate or development projects in the UAE.
- Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of UAE real estate laws, especially off-plan regulations, escrow laws, and real estate advertising rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with senior officials and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Existing relationships or working familiarity with officials at DLD, RERA, or Dubai Municipality.
- Experience supporting mega projects, master developments, or freehold property projects in Dubai.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Oqood, Mollak, Trakheesi, and other DLD/RERA systems.
- Legal or paralegal background is an advantage.
Working Conditions:
- Based in Dubai; occasional travel within the UAE for site visits or authority meetings.
- May require attendance at government or industry events outside regular working hours.
