We are currently seeking an experienced Design MEP Head to lead our MEP design department and drive excellence across all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design projects.

Position Overview:
The Design MEP Head will oversee the MEP design team, ensuring the delivery of accurate, efficient, and cost-effective designs for all ongoing and upcoming projects. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and strategic coordination with architects, structural teams, vendors, and project managers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Management

• Lead, supervise, and mentor the MEP Design team (mechanical, electrical, plumbing engineers, and draftsmen).
• Allocate resources, plan workloads, and monitor team performance.
• Conduct training and promote skill development within the department.

2. Project Planning & Coordination

• Review client requirements, project scopes, and design briefs.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, and interior design teams for integrated MEP solutions.
• Provide technical guidance throughout all design phases.

3. Design Development

• Oversee creation of MEP concepts, schematic designs, and detailed construction drawings.
• Review and approve calculations, load assessments, equipment sizing, and engineering reports.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and local authority regulations (ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, NEC, etc.).

4. Quality Control & Compliance

• Implement and enforce internal MEP design standards and QA/QC procedures.
• Conduct design reviews, clash detection, and risk assessments.
• Ensure accuracy, constructability, and efficiency of all MEP deliverables.

5. Client & Stakeholder Communication

• Attend client meetings, project reviews, and coordination sessions.
• Present design solutions, address concerns, and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with consultants, suppliers, and contractors as required.

6. Cost & Value Engineering

• Prepare and validate MEP design estimates, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Recommend cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
• Support tendering and procurement processes with technical evaluations.

7. Technology & Innovation

• Promote BIM/Revit, energy modeling, and sustainable design practices.
• Keep the team updated on latest engineering trends and technologies.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in MEP design, with 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles.
• Expertise in HVAC, Electrical, Low-Voltage, Fire Protection, and Plumbing systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and engineering software tools.
• Strong knowledge of international MEP codes and regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
