Head of Operations – Calcium Carbide Manufacturing

Role Summary
As the Plant Head, you will take full ownership of the entire calcium carbide manufacturing operation in a high-energy, electric arc furnace environment. Your leadership will drive safe, reliable, efficient, and cost-competitive production while optimizing power usage, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building a high-performing team in Pakistan’s industrial landscape.

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end plant operations, including electric arc furnaces (EAF), lime kilns, raw material handling, carbide tapping, crushing, and packaging.
• Deliver against key performance targets in production volume, product quality, cost efficiency, and safety.
• Manage power-intensive processes, collaborating closely with the industrial zone authority and local DISCO to secure reliable supply and minimize disruptions.
• Champion optimization of specific power consumption and maximize furnace availability/uptime.
• Maintain full compliance with the Factories Act, provincial OSH regulations, PEPA 1997, EPA standards, and NEQS requirements.
• Lead maintenance programs, planned shutdowns, furnace relining campaigns, and strategic spares inventory management.
• Control operational expenditure (OPEX) and capital projects (CAPEX), with strong focus on power, raw materials, electrodes, and refractories.
• Build, develop, and motivate plant teams while effectively managing industrial relations and contractor workforce.
• Serve as the key point of contact for regulators, auditors, government bodies, and external stakeholders.
• Drive debottlenecking initiatives, process improvements, efficiency gains, and support future expansion projects.

Pay: Rs500,000.00 - Rs700,000.00 per month
