Hebrew Immersion Afterschool/Summer Camp Program Director

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and execute engaging Hebrew language activities aligned with educational goals for afterschool and summer camp settings
  • Manage daily program operations, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for children of diverse backgrounds
  • Supervise and mentor staff, volunteers, and teaching assistants to ensure high-quality instruction and positive behavior management
  • Implement classroom management strategies to promote respectful interactions, active participation, and smooth transitions between activities
  • Coordinate with parents and guardians to communicate progress, address concerns, and foster strong community relationships
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by maintaining first aid readiness and adhering to childcare standards
  • Develop culturally enriching curriculum that incorporates Hebrew language immersion, Jewish traditions, arts, sports coaching, theater activities, and childhood development principles

Experience

  • Proven fluency in spoken and written Modern Hebrew
  • Proven experience in classroom management within early childhood education or childcare environments
  • Prior involvement in camp programming or summer youth activities with a focus on working with children of various ages
  • Knowledge of special education needs and behavior management techniques to support diverse learners
  • Background in teaching or tutoring in Hebrew or related languages is highly desirable
  • Certifications such as first aid/CPR are preferred to ensure safety during all program activities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a positive, energetic atmosphere that encourages learning and fun

Pay: $23.90 - $28.78 per hour
