Hospital Administrator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)

  • Provide operational leadership for all aspects of the hospital’s daily operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Medicare, Medicaid, state, county, and federal regulations, including CMS Conditions of Participation and Joint Commission standards.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems to support patient safety, staff efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee census management, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure quality and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Monitor operational and financial performance; identify and implement performance improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze and interpret operational data, financial reports, and regulatory documents.
  • Manage and develop hospital staff; promote teamwork, professional growth, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Director of Nursing to ensure adherence to clinical standards of care.
  • Lead and/or participate in quality assurance, utilization review, and compliance initiatives.
  • Participate in the Senior Leadership team to ensure communication of compliance issues.
  • Required
    • Master’s degree in hospital/business/healthcare administration OR experience in behavioral health, social work, health sciences, public administration, or human service administration.
    • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in healthcare of behavioral health
    • Experience with regulatory agencies such as: Department of Health and Human Services, Medicare, and Joint Commission Certification
    • Working knowledge of inpatient psychiatric facility operations, community mental health systems, and applicable state and federal regulations
    • Ability to analyze data, manage budgets, and interpret financial and legal documents
    • Successful completion of a criminal+ background check
  • Preferred
    • Master’s degree in mental health, health care administration, or business administration OR Clinical Psychology PhD/PsyD
    • Experience in an inpatient psychiatric treatment facility
