Job Description: Housekeeping Staff

Position Overview:

The Housekeeping Staff plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and tidiness in all areas of the hotel, ensuring a pleasant and comfortable environment for guests. They are responsible for executing various cleaning tasks efficiently and effectively to uphold the hotel's standards of cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Room Cleaning and Maintenance:

- Clean and tidy guest rooms, including making beds, vacuuming carpets, dusting furniture, and replenishing amenities.

- Ensure that all areas of the room, such as bathrooms, windows, and floors, are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.

- Report any maintenance issues or damages in guest rooms to the supervisor for prompt resolution.

2. Public Area Cleaning:

- Maintain cleanliness in public areas such as lobbies, corridors, elevators, and hallways.

- Dust and wipe surfaces, vacuum carpets, and mop floors to ensure a neat and welcoming environment for guests.

- Empty trash bins and replace liners as needed.

3. Laundry Service:

- Collect soiled linens and towels from guest rooms and public areas.

- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize clean laundry according to hotel standards.

- Ensure the proper handling and storage of laundry supplies and equipment.

4. Inventory Management:

- Maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning supplies, toiletries, and amenities in housekeeping carts and storage areas.

- Notify the supervisor when inventory levels are low and assist in replenishing supplies as necessary.

5. Compliance with Health and Safety Standards:

- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and protocols to maintain a hygienic and safe work environment.

- Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment with care, following proper usage and storage procedures.

- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.

6. Guest Interaction:

- Interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and courteously.

- Maintain guest confidentiality and respect their privacy at all times.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role preferred.

- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

- Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting and bending.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
