HR Associate
Purpose of Position:
The HR Associate will assist with recruitment, training, employee relations, and compliance to ensure an engaged, efficient, and high-performing team that contributes to exceptional guest experiences and smooth restaurant operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the full recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and onboarding of new employees.
- Ensure all employee records, contracts, and HR documentation are accurately maintained and up to date.
- Support the coordination and delivery of training programs for new and existing staff.
- Assist in preparing and processing payroll data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Monitor staff attendance, scheduling, and timekeeping, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Assist in addressing employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances in a professional and timely manner.
- Help ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations relevant to the restaurant industry.
- Collaborate with management to plan staff recognition events, meetings, and performance reviews.
- Prepare HR reports and assist with audits, policy updates, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff and management.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in HR information systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain composure in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
- Professional demeanor with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing operational needs and work schedules, including weekends or evenings if required.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations and hospitality industry standards.
- Prior experience in HR or administrative support within the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred.
