As we continue to expand our footprint in the cannabis industry, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Human Resources to lead and scale our human capital initiatives across the organization.
This leadership role will serve as a key member of the management team, overseeing the entire HR function and aligning HR strategies with business goals. From talent development and compliance to culture and organizational design, you will play a critical role in shaping our company’s growth and success.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

8–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.

HR certification preferred (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR).

Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.

Experience working in regulated industries; cannabis industry experience is a plus.

Proven ability to build relationships at all levels, including senior leadership.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a collaborative and strategic mindset.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with HRIS platforms.

Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and empower employees and leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall business direction.

Oversee all core HR functions: recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, and compliance.

Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute workforce planning and talent strategies.

Lead and mentor a high-performing HR team.

Foster a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace culture.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and cannabis industry-specific regulations.

Drive employee engagement, retention initiatives, and internal culture-building efforts.

Lead change management and organizational development strategies.

Conduct dynamic onboarding sessions covering company policies, safety protocols, and job-specific training.

Manage company-wide Safety & Health Management System including training, reporting, and record keeping.

Oversee state and federal reporting requirements and ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Support or lead grant writing and management processes, as applicable.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Train, lead, and manage direct reports.

Oversee daily HR operations including scheduling, assignments, and workflow management.

Provide verbal and written instructions and ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
