About the Role:

We’re in search of an HR Generalist to join the team. This is an ideal position for someone who has recruiting experience (and isn’t necessarily looking to give that up) but wants to venture out and learn the “HR” side of things. The “HR” side would include payroll, benefits, onboarding, performance management, and culture-building initiatives. Roll up your sleeves, bring your ideas and get ready to learn! (a lot)

Key Responsibilities: (What you'll be asked to do)

Recruiting:

  • Responsible for the sourcing, hiring, and onboarding of new recruits using ATS.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop creative job descriptions that will draw in the best of the best when it comes to insuretech/insurance talent.
  • Own weekly recruitment status meetings and conduct regular updates with hiring managers.
  • Research and strategize new ways to find talent.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Responsible for ensuring that all new hires complete all required new hire documents.

(tax forms, I-9s, and other state-specific documents)

  • Conduct New Hire Orientation and employee check-ins
  • Conduct exit interviews and ensure company separations are processed correctly in our systems.

Payroll & Benefits:

  • Process payroll via ADP WorkforceNow on a semi-monthly basis for approximately 180 employees.
  • Learn our current benefit offerings and conduct new hire orientation
  • Assist with the annual open enrollment and benefits renewal process
  • Assist employees with benefit-related questions.
  • Assist with the managing of employee leaves across multiple states with various rules and requirements.

Special Projects:

  • Assist with the planning, rollout, and maintenance of our new performance/engagement platform.
  • Come up with out-of-box culture-building initiatives that will build rapport within an almost fully remote organization.
  • Assist with the re-vamping of our new hire orientation process to accommodate a remote workforce.
  • Help with policy creation and rollout communication as needed

The Successful Candidate: (What we're looking for)

  • You’re a roll up your sleeves, get it done kind of person.
  • You’re scrappy, you understand how to work in a fast-paced, “no two days are ever the same” environment.
  • You’re a problem solver that understands how to think through all sides of a situation or task.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Some Requirements: (What you’ll need to be successful)

  • Previous recruiting experience preferably working in a start-up or small to mid-size growing company.
  • At least 3 years of recruiting experience that includes sourcing talent from not-so-obvious places.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with all levels of people in an organization.

Education:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Computer Skills:

  • Advanced Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience using video and chat technology (MSTeams & Slack)
  • Comfortable learning and working across different technology platforms (BambooHR & ADP a plus)

Other:
