Job Summary:
To lead and manage all Human Resources functions, ensuring the company attracts, develops, and retains a skilled workforce for its joinery and fit-out operations. The HR Manager will be responsible for implementing HR strategies aligned with company goals, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and fostering a safe, productive, and performance-driven workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment & Manpower Planning
- Develop and execute recruitment plans to meet project-based manpower needs (carpenters, painters, polishers, CNC operators, site fitters, supervisors, etc.).
- Coordinate with project and production managers to forecast workforce requirements.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment including job postings, interviews, testing, and onboarding.
- Maintain a skilled manpower database and manage visa, labor card, and work permit processes (if applicable).
2. Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution in a fair and consistent manner.
- Develop and implement performance appraisal systems aligned with operational KPIs.
- Promote a positive and transparent work environment across workshops and project sites.
3. Training & Development
- Identify skill gaps in joinery production, finishing, and installation teams.
- Organize technical and safety training programs in coordination with production managers.
- Develop career progression plans for technical and administrative staff.
4. HR Policies & Compliance
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures in line with labor laws and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and welfare standards in workshops and on-site operations.
- Maintain accurate HR documentation, employee files, and attendance systems.
5. Payroll & Compensation Management
- Oversee payroll preparation, attendance tracking, and leave management.
- Ensure accurate calculation of overtime, site allowances, and project incentives.
- Review salary structures and benefits to ensure competitiveness in the joinery industry.
6. Workforce Administration
- Manage accommodation, transportation, and welfare facilities.
- Oversee visa renewals, medical insurance, and exit/entry formalities for staff.
- Liaise with PRO / government relations officer for labor and immigration matters.
7. Strategic HR Management
- Advise management on organizational development, succession planning, and workforce optimization.
- Contribute to business planning by aligning HR strategies with project and production goals.
- Support change management initiatives during company expansion or restructuring.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10–15 years of HR management experience, with at least 3 years in a joinery, woodworking, or interior fit-out company.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, visa processes, and HR compliance.
- Experience managing blue-collar and technical workforce.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
