HSE Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Safety Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Engineering, proven safety experience on Substation and Solar PV projects in the UAE, and a valid UAE driving license.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety programs at project sites
• Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations, local authority, and client safety requirements
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and job safety analysis for Substation and Solar PV works
• Monitor safety during high-risk activities such as electrical works, energization, testing & commissioning, and working at height
• Inspect substations, switchyards, inverter stations, and solar PV installations to identify hazards and unsafe practices
• Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site inductions for project staff and subcontractors
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; prepare reports and implement corrective actions
• Coordinate with project managers, electrical engineers, and site supervisors to maintain a safe working environment
• Maintain HSE documentation, permits to work, method statements, and safety records

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or related engineering discipline
• Minimum experience as a Safety / HSE Engineer in Substation and Solar PV projects within the UAE
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards, LOTO, HV/LV systems, and renewable energy safety practices
• Valid UAE driving license (mandatory)
• NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification (preferred)
• Good communication, reporting, and coordination skills
• Ability to work independently and visit multiple project sites
