HSE Officer

Job Summary:

The HSE Officer is responsible for implementing and maintaining Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards across IPT operations. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, promotes a strong safety culture, and supports continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance. The HSE Officer works closely with terminal, fleet, and operations teams to ensure that all activities are carried out safely and responsibly in alignment with company policies and procedures.

Health & Safety

· Ensure compliance with UAE and international health and safety regulations across all sites.

· Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.

· Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training for employees, drivers, and contractors.

· Monitor safe work practices and intervene when unsafe behaviors or conditions are observed.

· Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, prepare reports, and follow up on corrective actions.

· Support emergency response preparedness and participate in drills and simulations.

Environment

· Monitor compliance with environmental laws, permits, and company procedures.

· Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of fuels, chemicals, and hazardous waste.

· Assist in implementing environmental sustainability initiatives and pollution prevention measures.

· Participate in environmental inspections, testing, and reporting as required.

Quality & Compliance

· Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO and company QHSE management systems.

· Assist in preparing and updating QHSE documentation, procedures, and records.

· Participate in internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are completed on time.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety and environmental performance.

Reporting & Coordination

· Prepare and submit HSE inspection and incident reports to the HSE Senior Officer or HSE Manager.

· Maintain accurate HSE logs, training attendance records, and safety equipment checklists.

· Coordinate with terminal managers, fleet supervisors, and other departments to ensure full HSE compliance.

· Report any violations, unsafe conditions, or environmental concerns immediately to management.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field

Required Certificates

NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification is mandatory.

ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 training or certification is an advantage.

Experience

2 to 4 years of relevant experience in HSE, preferably in the oil & gas, energy, or logistics sector
