Job Summary
The HR Manager will be responsible for end-to-end human resource management across a multi-outlet restaurant chain in Kuwait. The role includes recruitment, manpower planning, employee relations, compliance with Kuwait Labour Law, payroll coordination, performance management, and HR policy implementation for both local and expatriate staff.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Manpower Planning
- Plan and execute bulk hiring for restaurant staff (Chefs, Cooks, Waiters, Cashiers, Baristas, Supervisors, Cleaners, etc.).
- Coordinate overseas recruitment (India, Nepal, Philippines, etc.) with licensed manpower agencies.
- Conduct interviews, selection, onboarding, and deployment across outlets.
- Maintain staffing levels as per business requirements and expansion plans.
2. Compliance & Labour Law
- Ensure full compliance with Kuwait Labour Law, residency regulations, and Ministry of Social Affairs & Labour (MOSAL) requirements.
- Handle visas, residencies, work permits, medicals, and related documentation in coordination with PROs.
- Maintain employee records, contracts, and renewals.
3. Employee Relations & Welfare
- Act as a point of contact for employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
- Manage attendance, leave, absenteeism, warnings, terminations, and end-of-service benefits.
- Promote a positive work culture aligned with hospitality standards.
4. HR Policies & Procedures
- Develop and implement HR policies, SOPs, employee handbooks, and code of conduct.
- Ensure uniform HR practices across all outlets.
- Monitor compliance with company rules and disciplinary procedures.
5. Performance Management & Training
- Design and implement performance appraisal systems for restaurant staff and managers.
- Identify training needs and coordinate skills, hygiene, customer service, and compliance training.
- Support outlet managers in team development and productivity improvement.
6. Payroll & Compensation
- Coordinate payroll processing in line with contracts, overtime, and Kuwait wage norms.
- Ensure timely salary payments and proper documentation.
- Handle compensation structuring, incentives, and staff benefits.
7. HR Reporting & MIS
- Prepare monthly HR reports: headcount, attrition, recruitment status, visa status, and compliance updates.
- Provide HR data and insights to senior management for decision-making.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5–8 years of HR experience, preferably in restaurants, hospitality, retail, or FMCG.
- Minimum 2–3 years experience in Kuwait or GCC (mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of Kuwait Labour Law and visa processes.
- Experience managing multi-national workforce and multi-location operations.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent knowledge of recruitment (local & overseas)
- Hands-on experience in employee relations and disciplinary handling
- Good communication skills in English (Arabic is a strong advantage)
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Proficient in HR systems, MS Excel, and reporting
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience working with QSR chains, casual dining, or fine-dining restaurant groups
- Candidates currently in Kuwait will be preferred
- Immediate or short notice joiners preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: KD1,000.000 - KD1,500.000 per month
