HR Assistant – Direct Hire

Location: Cerritos, CA

Compensation: $52,000 – $55,000 annually

Schedule: Full-time, on-site

Overview:

LHH is seeking a Human Resources Assistant for a reputable law firm in Cerritos. This is a direct-hire opportunity ideal for someone with 1–2 years of HR experience who is eager to grow within a professional services environment. The HR Assistant will support day-to-day HR operations, onboarding, employee file maintenance, and general administrative functions within the HR department.

Responsibilities:

• Support daily HR operations including onboarding, new hire paperwork, and employee file maintenance

• Assist with recruitment efforts such as scheduling interviews, posting job ads, and coordinating candidate communication

• Maintain HR database and ensure information is accurate and up to date

• Process employment changes, maintain compliance documentation, and help prepare HR reports

• Assist with benefits administration and open enrollment tasks

• Provide general administrative support to the HR team and leadership

• Ensure confidentiality and adherence to internal policies and employment laws

Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of HR experience, preferably within a professional services or corporate environment

• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning HRIS systems

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
