Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Generalist supports daily HR operations and provides guidance to employees and managers. Responsibilities include recruitment coordination, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, HR data management, policy support, and compliance tracking. This role helps ensure a positive employee experience and consistent application of HR policies across the County.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment including job fairs, job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and offer letter preparation
  • Lead onboarding activities and ensure smooth orientation for new hires
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and programs
  • Support employee relations by gathering information, documenting concerns, and escalating issues when appropriate
  • Assist with labor relations to include discipline, investigations, grievances and labor management meetings
  • Maintain accurate HR records, personnel files, and HRIS data in compliance with record-keeping laws
  • Administer benefits enrollment, changes, and employee communications
  • Track leave of absence requests and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Assist with performance management cycles including evaluations, goal setting, and training coordination
  • Assist with Workers Compensation self-insurance program
  • Support compliance with employment laws, company policies, and audit requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Requirements

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Position requires a minimum high school diploma with knowledge of general business procedures, Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • Previous related work experience of three (3) years or advanced training in Human Resources is required, or the equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of HR principles, labor laws, and best practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service mindset
  • Excellent organization, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
