Frazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles, is currently seeking a HR Generalist to join our team. The HR Generalist at Frazer reports to the HR Director, and is responsible for performing a wide range of HR duties on a professional level and works closely with management in supporting the HR department by timely and accurate completion of all tasks. Ideal candidates will enjoy all functions of Human Resources and will bring previous experience and natural ability to complete those tasks.

This position is expected to actively live out Frazer Core Values while working with Frazer employees, vendors, and customers to help achieve team, department, and corporate goals. Responsible for learning and reinforcing safe and proper work procedures while actively following Frazer Safety programs and other policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.


What Does a Week in the Life of the HR Generalist Look Like?
  • Works with HR leadership to achieve the goals and objectives of the Human Resources department to provide support in all areas of Human Resources working either independently or with other HR team members.
  • Creates and maintains personnel files on all active and inactive employees placing all necessary and required paperwork in their appropriate folders.
  • Inputs all required information on new employees into the Human Resources systems (UKG) and updates employee records as changes occur to ensure all data is accurate and entered in a timely manner.
  • Performs new hire orientations as required for new employees providing them with an overview of the company, group benefit package and review of applicable HR and company policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the weekly payroll process ensuring accuracy/integrity of payroll input working in conjunction with other HR team members.
  • Assists with benefits administration including new enrollments, employee communication, benefit changes, terminations, reporting, monthly invoice reconciliation and open enrollment.
  • Coordinates scheduling of new employee orientations with HR and HSSE Departments.
  • Responds to child support, wage garnishments, wage/employment verifications and other inquiries from third parties and government entities.
  • Assists with daily tasks of legal compliance and reporting that pertain to federal and state employment law including the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), I-9s, E-Verify, the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, Worker Compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Texas Payday Act, Texas Workforce Commission and others.
  • Assists with employment terminations and off-boarding tasks including company asset collection, benefit terminations, and record updates.
  • Assists with employee of the month (EOM), employee suggestions, engagement surveys, Top Workplaces and other employee related matters.
  • Objectively and thoroughly conducts formal and informal investigations related to employee relation matters and recommends disciplinary actions; prepares and submits detailed and factual reports in response to employee relations matters and investigations in a timely manner to the HR Director.
  • Serves as a backup for Receptionist.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Secondary Duties:
  • Assist with random, post-accident and for-cause drug testing of all employees.
  • Proactively leverages and maintains Human Resources systems to the fullest extent to maximize productivity around employee information, payroll, benefits, reporting structures, positions and compensation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains organizational charts and runs HR reports on a weekly basis.
  • Participates in various HR projects as instructed by the HR Director.
  • Prepares HR/Payroll reporting on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis, including billing and reporting for governmental entities.
  • Supports the recruiting process by reviewing applications, conducting phone screens/interviews, and scheduling in-person interviews.
  • Help ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws.

Required Education and Experience:
  • An AA or BS Degree in Human Resources or related area or a minimum of 3 years Human Resources experience.
  • Ability to handle employee data with confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with labor laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with HR software and systems.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • SHRM certification - PHR, SPHR, or other certification in HR.
  • UKG experience strongly preferred.
  • Google Suite experience preferred.

Oh, and $alary
Of course, we didn't forget the salary… Frazer offers competitive pay and this role will start with a salary between $67,000 - $82,000 annually depending on education, certifications, and experience.

Work Schedule
The HR Generalist will work Monday - Thursday 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Friday 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Occasional evening/weekend work may be needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.
