Human Resources Manager

Excel Restoration is seeking a motivated Human Resource Manager who will oversee all human resources functions including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, and employee relations. This role plays a key part in shaping Excel’s culture, ensuring our people feel supported, and maintaining smooth coordination across departments. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and passionate about creating a positive and productive workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruitment for all positions (field and office roles).
• Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
• Manage onboarding, performance reviews, and employee development initiatives.
• Administer payroll, benefits, and time-off tracking in coordination with accounting.
• Handle employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws (IL & WI).
• Maintain accurate employee files and HR documentation.
• Coordinate company events, recognition programs, and culture initiatives.
• Partner with leadership to identify and implement training and retention strategies.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
• 3+ years of HR management or generalist experience.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
• Experience with restoration, construction, or field-based industries a plus.
• HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP) preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Projected Total Compensation: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
