Position Summary
ODM is seeking a motivated and dependable HVAC Apprentice to join our growing field operations team. This role is designed for individuals looking to build a career in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) trade. The HVAC Apprentice will work under the supervision of experienced technicians to learn installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems while developing hands-on technical skills and industry knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced HVAC technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair of heating and cooling systems.
- Support service calls by helping diagnose issues with HVAC equipment.
- Help with equipment setup, material handling, and job site preparation.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in clean and safe working condition.
- Follow company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines at all times.
- Document work completed and assist with job reporting as needed.
- Learn to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Participate in on-the-job training and continuing education to develop HVAC skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Interest in building a career in the HVAC or mechanical trades.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Enrollment in or willingness to pursue an HVAC training program or apprenticeship is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.
