Job Description – HVAC Buyer
The HVAC Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring HVAC systems, equipment, materials, and related services at the best value, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with company standards. The role requires strong vendor management, market knowledge, and technical understanding of HVAC products.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers/vendors for HVAC materials, equipment, and spare parts.
- Request and analyze quotations, negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor HVAC market trends, pricing, and availability to support procurement decisions.
- Coordinate with engineering, projects, and maintenance teams to determine technical specifications and requirements.
- Issue purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier contracts, and price databases.
- Ensure all purchased materials comply with company quality standards and project specifications.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure long-term collaboration.
- Work with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure proper inventory control of HVAC materials.
- Resolve supplier-related issues including delays, quality concerns, or disputes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and health & safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in HVAC or MEP industry.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, materials, and spare parts.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP/Procurement software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
