The Import Officer is responsible for managing all import-related operations, including documentation, coordination with suppliers, banks, and regulatory bodies. The role requires strong expertise in PSW, WeBOC, and pharmaceutical import regulations, along with proficiency in handling LCs, payment reconciliations, and end-to-end import processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the complete import process for raw materials, packaging materials, equipment and machinery related to pharmaceutical production.
  • Prepare, verify, and process all import-related documentation including invoices, packing lists, bill of lading, certificate of origin, insurance, and shipment details.
  • Ensure accurate entries and coordination through Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and WeBOC for customs clearance and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and clearing agents to ensure timely shipment, clearance, and delivery.
  • Maintain close liaison with banks for all import-related financial transactions, documentation, and payment settlements.
  • Track all shipments and maintain an updated record of import documentation and payment status.
  • Ensure compliance with all DRAP, Customs, and import regulatory requirements applicable to pharmaceutical products and materials.
  • Support management in vendor relationship development, cost analysis, and import-related reporting.
  • Prepare periodic import summaries, payment trackers, and MIS reports for internal review.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or Business Administration.
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in import operations, preferably in the pharmaceutical or FMCG industry.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong command over PSW and WeBOC systems
  • Familiarity with DRAP and custom clearance processes
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems
  • Strong coordination, communication, and follow-up skills
  • Detail-oriented with good analytical and documentation abilities
