an Import Officer manages the end-to-end international procurement and supply chain process. They prepare shipping documentation (e.g., Bills of Lading, Invoices), coordinate with foreign suppliers and freight forwarders, and ensure all cargo smoothly clears customs in compliance with local trade laws and banking regulations.
Key Responsibilities1. Documentation & Banking

  • Handle all shipping documents, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading (BL), and Certificates of Origin.
  • Prepare and process Letters of Credit (LC), Form-E, and related banking documents.
  • Prepare and submit import Goods Declarations (GD) via the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) or WeBOC systems. [1, 2, 3, 4]

2. Supply Chain & Logistics

  • Coordinate with international suppliers, freight forwarders, and shipping lines to schedule and track shipments.
  • Monitor vessel arrivals and coordinate the timely transportation of goods to warehouses or factories. [1, 2]

3. Customs Clearance & Compliance

  • Liaise with customs clearing agents to ensure fast, efficient release of cargo.
  • Ensure full compliance with local import tariffs, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulations, and port authority rules.
  • Resolve any discrepancies in paperwork or delays at the port. [1, 2, 3]

4. Reporting & Cost Management

  • Maintain up-to-date digital files of all import transactions in ERP or logistics management systems.
  • Coordinate with the internal finance department regarding vendor payments, customs duties, and tax calculations.

Pay: Rs45,000.00 - Rs55,000.00 per month
