About this Job


The IT Procurement and Compliance Analyst works as a member of the Louisiana State University in Shreveport (LSUS) Information Technology Services department and is responsible for maintaining existing IT purchasing agreements, assisting with the establishment of new IT purchasing agreements and contracts, assisting with the development and maintenance of IT compliance programs, and serving as the liaison between IT and other Finance and Administration departments such as Accounting and Purchasing.

Founded in 1967, LSUS is one of the LSU family of universities. LSUS has a strong regional presence with both a face-to-face student population and a large online student population. LSUS' IT Services provides all IT functions for the campus in a centralized fashion.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an IT or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in procurement
  • Professional etiquette and appearance
  • Must be able to work collegially in a small team environment
  • Experience with supplier management
  • Experience with contract review and negotiation
  • Experience with accounting
  • Incredibly detail-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specific experience in IT procurement
  • Experience working in a higher education academic computing setting
  • 2+ years in IT system administration, solution design, and support
  • Relevant certifications and other indicators of an active pursuance of learning and skill building
  • Familiarity with information security regulatory requirements and standards such as FERPA, GLBA, and PCI DSS
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls and ISO 27001
  • Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools such as Isora GRC, Auditboard, and Upguard.

Job Duties and Other Information

Position Duties

  • Assisting with the sourcing and procurement of IT software, services, infrastructure, and systems. Reviewing, managing, and negotiating IT purchasing agreements and contracts for submittal to LSUS Purchasing
  • Supporting the IT compliance team to help ensure the university is compliant with regulatory requirements and industry standards such as FERPA, GLBA, and PCI DSS.
  • Maintaining proactive and consistent communication with the IT management team on project statuses and issues
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for all communication related to IT purchasing agreements and contracts.
  • Providing reports on IT systems and services compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards such as FERPA, GLBA, and PCI DSS to the CIO
  • Assisting the IT compliance team in responding to audits related to information security
  • Other duties as assigned by IT Management
