Key Account Manager

About the Role

This is not a traditional account management role.

We are hiring a Growth-Focused Key Account Manager who will act as a strategic partner for DTC eCommerce brands, owning both client success and growth outcomes.

You will be the single point of ownership for a portfolio of retainer clients—responsible for:

  • Driving measurable growth (conversion, revenue, retention)
  • Leading strategy across website, CRO, paid marketing, and lifecycle
  • Coordinating internal teams (design, dev, marketing)
  • Ensuring KPIs are achieved

Role Objective

To act as a Growth Lead for DTC brands, ensuring:

  • High-performing Shopify experiences
  • Strong conversion rate optimization (CRO)
  • Scalable growth strategies across channels
  • Consistent achievement of client KPIs

Key Responsibilities1. Client Ownership & Strategic Leadership

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all client communication
  • Build strong relationships as a trusted growth advisor
  • Lead strategic discussions, not just status updates
  • Translate business goals into actionable growth plans
  • Ensure clients clearly understand progress, performance, and next steps

2. Growth Strategy (Core of the Role)

You will design and guide strategies across:

Website & Conversion Optimization (CRO)

  • Audit Shopify stores for UX, UI, and conversion bottlenecks
  • Identify high-impact improvements in:
  • Product pages
  • Landing pages
  • Checkout experience
  • Plan and prioritize A/B tests
  • Collaborate with designers & developers to implement improvements

Full-Funnel Thinking

  • Understand how all growth levers connect:
  • Paid ads (Meta, Google)
  • Website experience
  • Email/SMS marketing
  • Content & branding
  • Identify gaps and opportunities across the funnel

Retention & Lifecycle

  • Suggest strategies for:
  • Email flows
  • Customer retention
  • Repeat purchase optimization

3. Project Ownership & Execution

  • Own delivery of all client projects and retainers
  • Break down strategy into:
  • Tasks
  • Timelines
  • Deliverables
  • Collaborate with:
  • Designers
  • Developers
  • Marketing teams
  • Ensure deadlines, quality, and KPIs are met

4. Performance & KPI Accountability

  • Define success metrics for each client
  • Track and report on:
  • Conversion rate
  • Revenue growth
  • AOV, retention, etc.
  • Take full ownership of results
  • Proactively adjust strategies when performance is off-track

5. Internal Coordination

  • Act as the bridge between client and internal team
  • Provide clear direction to:
  • Designers (UI/UX improvements)
  • Developers (Shopify implementations)
  • Marketing teams (ads, email, etc.)
  • Ensure alignment between strategy and execution

6. Upselling & Account Growth

  • Identify opportunities to expand client accounts:
  • New services (CRO, ads, email, etc.)
  • Position recommendations as growth opportunities, not sales pitches
  • Contribute to overall account revenue growth

Required ExperienceMust-Have Background

  • 3–5+ years in:
  • eCommerce growth / digital marketing / CRO / account management
  • Proven experience working with DTC or eCommerce brands
  • Strong exposure to Shopify ecosystem

Critical Experience We’re Looking For

You must have real experience in scaling brands, not just managing projects:

  • Worked directly on improving:
  • Conversion rates
  • Store performance
  • Revenue growth
  • Hands-on involvement in:
  • CRO strategies
  • Website optimization
  • Marketing funnel improvements
  • Experience collaborating with:
  • Paid ads teams
  • Email/lifecycle teams
  • Designers & developers

Core Skill Set1. Shopify & eCommerce Expertise

  • Deep understanding of:
  • Shopify platform
  • Themes, apps, integrations
  • Ability to evaluate what makes a high-converting store

2. CRO & Website Strategy

  • Strong understanding of:
  • UX/UI principles
  • Conversion psychology
  • A/B testing methodologies
  • Ability to identify high-impact improvements quickly

3. Growth Thinking

  • Understand how to scale brands across:
  • Paid acquisition
  • Website optimization
  • Retention channels
  • Ability to connect all growth levers into one strategy

4. Analytical Thinking

  • Comfortable interpreting:
  • Analytics data
  • Funnel performance
  • Can turn insights into actionable strategies

5. Communication & Ownership

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to:
  • Lead client calls confidently
  • Present strategies clearly
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability

6. Execution & Organization

  • Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
  • Strong project management skills (even without a PM)
  • Experience with tools like ClickUp, Asana, or similar
