Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead Teacher to join our educational team, dedicated to fostering an engaging, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for young children. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing developmentally appropriate curricula that support early childhood education and special education needs. Duties
- Develop and execute comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, speech therapy, behavioral health, and behavioral management strategies.
- Lead classroom activities that promote social-emotional growth, cognitive development, and communication skills for children with diverse needs such as autism and developmental disabilities.
- Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to tailor instruction for students with special needs, ensuring compliance with educational regulations.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies to create a safe and productive learning environment.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists to support children’s holistic development through early intervention practices.
- Mentor and supervise assistant teachers and childcare staff, providing guidance on curriculum delivery, classroom management, and child engagement techniques.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, assessments, and behavioral reports; prepare reports for parent-teacher conferences and standardized testing requirements.
- Foster strong communication with families to support ongoing child development at home and ensure a collaborative approach to education.
Requirements
Lead teachers must have a minimum of a CDA, associates, Bachelor or 9 college credits in early childhood or education or related field. All candidates must bring a copy of their transcript and degree/diploma. Also a copy of First Aid/ CPR .
- Proven classroom experience in early childhood education or special education settings; preschool or private school experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across literacy, math, library services, and childhood development topics.
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes, behavioral health strategies, speech therapy techniques, and working with children with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, therapists, and community partners.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior using evidence-based behavioral therapy methods and behavioral management techniques.
- Certification or training in early intervention practices, Montessori methods or preschool education is advantageous.
