Legal Assistant

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assitant to join our team. The successful candidate will be part of our paralegal team and will provide administrative and organizational support to lawyers and management.

Core responsibilities are: l assisting with managing attorney calendars, scheduling appointments, court dates, and depositions, serving as the first point of contact for clients, answering phones, responding to emails, and greeting visitors, organizing and maintaining both physical and electronic case files, records, and internal legal libraries. formatting, and proofreading basic legal documents such as correspondence, memos, and simple pleadings, assisting with filing of legal documents (briefs, motions, etc.) with state and federal courts, often using e-filing systems, assisting with billing and time tracking, assisting with preparing trial exhibits, witness binders, and taking notes during proceedings or meetings.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. This role provides a foundation for further career development within the legal field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Expected:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent as minimum requirement.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage high volumes of work and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, demonstrating the ability to prioritize and organize workflow
  • Ability to work effectively and build productive relationships with the firm’s Partners, attorneys and non-attorney staff.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • High level of discretion, trustworthiness, and diplomacy.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Must have a self-starting, motivational personality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
