Manager Costing

Job Description:

· Develop and maintain standard costs for all raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.

· Collaborate with Engineering and Production to ensure Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing routings are accurate and up to date.

· Calculate and apply labor and overhead absorption rates based on machine hours, man-hours, or activity-based drivers.

· Lead the annual standard cost update process, ensuring all changes in procurement prices and production efficiencies are captured.

· Perform deep-dive analysis into Price Variances (PPV) and Usage Variances (efficiency).

· Work directly with the shop floor or procurement team to explain why variances occurred (e.g., machine downtime, material waste, or supplier price hikes).

· Translate complex variance data into clear reports for management to drive corrective actions.

· Provide "what-if" cost simulations for R&D and Marketing for new product launches.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

· 4–6 years of "hands-on" costing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

· CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is highly preferred for this technical focus
