Job Title: Manager – Procurement & Supply Chain
Location: Karachi
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing
- Lead and manage the procurement of all local and imported items, including food ingredients, packaging, and non-food materials.
- Ensure procurement aligns with production demand forecasts, inventory levels, and business expansion plans.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans, including long-term supply agreements and contingency strategies.
Import & Export
- Oversee end-to-end import processes, including:
- Vendor coordination
- Freight forwarding
- Customs clearance
- Regulatory documentation
- Letter of Credit (LC), Bank Contract and Incoterms compliance
- Maintain strong relationships with international suppliers, logistics partners, and customs brokers.
- Monitor geopolitical and logistical risks and proactively develop mitigation plans.
Vendor Development & Relationship Management
- Identify, onboard, and manage reliable suppliers both local and international.
- Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews based on delivery, quality, cost, and compliance.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure best value and continuity.
Cost Optimization & Localization
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through:
- Negotiation strategies
- Localization of imported materials
- Dual sourcing strategies
- Perform market benchmarking and spend analysis to improve procurement efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Marketing: Procurement for campaigns, promotions, and activations
- R&D & QA: Support NPD/EPD projects, technical sourcing, and compliance with food safety standards
- Production & Planning: Align procurement with production schedules and inventory norms
Inventory & Logistics Coordination
- Ensure accurate demand planning and stock replenishment for commissary operations.
- Monitor inbound shipments (local and imported) and coordinate with logistics for timely deliveries.
- Prevent stockouts, delays, and overstocking through proactive supply planning.
Process Improvement & Risk Management
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement and supply chain processes.
- Ensure adherence to company SOPs, audit requirements, and compliance standards.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including single-source dependencies and regulatory changes.
Team Leadership (If Applicable)
- Guide and mentor junior procurement executives.
- Promote a culture of ownership, transparency, and high performance.
Requirements:
- Strong vendor network in the food and packaging industry (domestic and international)
- Experience in supporting NPD / EPD projects
- Familiarity with quality systems (e.g., FSSC 22000, HACCP, ISO)
- MBA Supply Chain
- 5 to 8 years of experience in procurement and supply chain.
- Experience in import/export operations and dealing with customs and government bodies.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of working with SAP & ERP systems.
- Experience in FMCG, QSR, or Food Industry is a plus.
